Saber Astro II to Astro III UHF-activate the keypad function

Post by vr2xst »

I have open my Astro II and found that it was built-in the keypad function film.
Recently I got a Astro III housing and change my Astro II to III, but anybody know how to activite the keypad function ?

It should be already activated already, have never seen anything under RSS about enabling or disabling keypad.....

All Astro Saber II's came with the full keypad under the housing. The only differences between a II and a III are the case and the codeplug.

If your radio has a model II codeplug then there is nowhere in the RSS/CPS to "activate" the keypad. You will have to force in a model III codeplug to turn your radio into a functioning model III.

Dear Fuel4300,

How should I force in a model III codeplug into my radio.
Is it use RSS 9.05 with model III codeplug program into my radio ?
Or any other technical method ?
By the Way, do you have model III codeplug for UHF 403Mhz-470Mhz ?

Tks a lot

What radios do you own?: Too many!

You have to use MTSX LAB to force the CP into the radio. It has to be Version R03.00.02. Version R02 will not work. Do not use Astro LAB.

[edit] You have to have the correct bandsplit codeplug of the radio you are trying to upgrade.

Good luck!

Sorry, I was away from my computer travelling for the holiday weekend.

The codeplug I have is for CPS R04.01.02 and has been sent out to you.
