XTS 3500 tidbits

Post by batdude »

for those of you who didn't know

the xts 3500 is built similarly to the XTS 5000.

unlike the XTS 3000, which uses THREE boards (vocoder, RF and controller boards)

the XTS 3500 combines the vocoder and controller into a single board... a la XTS 5000 style....

just thought that was interesting enuf to post

Pretty cool Doug.

What's the scoop on the XTS 1500 and 2500? Are they built with one board like the 5000's? I've heard they're both a little smaller in size.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

How about some internal photos xts3500?

Because of the limited availability of the XTS3500 most of us will never get the chance to open one up and take a look around.

While staring at the photos of Doug's 3500, I thought of how familiar the boards looked. Then it hit me: A naked Minitor I pager with its two boards sandwiched together, to fit neatly inside that familiar grey case.

Pretty strange how the actual components change along with the technology...yet stays the same.

Okay.. it's bedtime. :o <~ starting to look like this guy.

Later fellas

It's very similar to the EFJ Transcrypt 501X Stealth too.
Inside of that there's an Astro Jedi RF board and a one piece Vocoder/controller board.

Weired, it's probably the same thing in a different package.
