XTL5K program cable

Post by jim »

Can the XTL5K be programmed through the rear accessory connector? I see that there are BUS+ and - and all of the other necessary functions. If so, what is the pinout from acc.-to-RIB?
I did a search and came up with nothing on this.

It programs from the front of the radio, whether it is a remote or a dash mount, it programs from the front of the unit.

Kilgore: Smell that? You smell that?
Lance: What?
Kilgore: Napalm, son. Nothing in the world smells like that.
Kilgore: I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end...

The front of the unit....

Meaning the control head or the front of the RF deck on a remote or dual head?

That is correct, if it is a remote mount, you will program through the keyload port, if it's a dash mount, the mic jack is the port.
