H42 Trunked variable talkgroup ID
Q352 soft ID

Can anyone explain the uses for these options please ? Thanks in advance.

Q352 Soft ID allows a subscriber unit to transmit and display an 8-character alphanumeric ID when transmitting in the digital mode (clear or secure).

Doesnt H14 digital ID display do the same thing?

H14 allows ID's to be seen. In order to see the soft id's, you also need the soft ID installed in the radio (in addition to H14).
