Strange Astro Spectra Encryption Issue

Post by jmr061 »

I have hi power Astro Spectra VHF that just came back from the depot with a new vocon and command board. I just added encryption to it (DVP-XL/DES-XL) EMC R0.60. On the bench it works fine.

I put in in the vehicle and most of the time it comes up fail 1/90 then fail 2/90(dsp error). If I take the encryption module out it works fine in the vehicle. I put it back on the bench with the encryption module put back in and it works fine. The encryption module works fine in my astro saber as well. I am using a different accessory kit on the bench than what is in the vehicle however the accessory kit in the vehicle works fine with my mid-power astro spectra.

Any thoughts?

I wonder if there's some sort of firmware mismatch that's causing a data bus conflict.

I don't know what else it could be.

It took a while but it finally came up with the same error on the bench. Can anyone confirm host/dsp astro spectra versus emc firmware glitches?

I decided to put an encryption module in it that has EMC R03.53.

I will see how that goes.
