TX lock up on W9

Post by Zero dbm »

Curious if anyone has any thoughts about my UHF astro spectra W9. It will work perfectly on a trunk system with nothing but great performance, but when I use it on a simplex mode, it will intermittently lock up in TX. I have to power down and restart to get it to clear.

Now, I haven't put much time into troubleshooting it yet, as I thought I would check with the group here first.

Thanks

I have the same problem with a H38 flashed AS III. If a channel is changed just after TX'ing the transmitter locks up. The problem is intermittent and has only occured in one zone ( the one the radio is in most often). The volume power off is dead the only way to reset the radio is to disconnect the battery. This radio is going back to the depot soon. If you figure this out let me know.

Flashcode
5901080000000
7.14.00
DSP
8.03.01

Sounds like a firmware issue (on both accounts.)

Is that Astro Saber a parts built? The host and DSP don't line up....
(Host 7.14.00 should be 8.02.08 DSP....)

Nope. The radio was depot upgraded for IMBE and a 1meg VOCODER from a VSELP model. The depot at that time also flashed it for H38.

The Host is 7.14.00
DSP N08.03.01
EMC 3.56

The W9 that is doing this is VSELP. The radio is not parts built.
