Problem with XTS3000 and Commander Speaker Mic

Post by Fuel4300 »

So this one is a little odd. When I use my commander speaker mic on my xts3000 and push the either of the volume buttons on the mic the radio reacts as if i pushed the 3rd menu button on the radio itself.

It also does this if I connect the mic while the radio is powered up.

The XTS3k has older firmware R5.xx DSP 6.xx and all other buttons on the mic function properly.

I have used this mic on other XTS3k's and XTS5k's and had no problems before and this is the first time I have used it on this particular radio.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

XTS Commander Mic

I think that the firmware you have may be too old to support that Mic.
I remember reading what was needed in the instruction book that came with the mic.

Thats what I figured. I had planned a trip back to the depot for a firmware upgrade for this thing anyways.

About how much should I expect to pay for a firmware refresh?

Thanks,

Mike
