We have Astro Quantar repeaters and the ones that are analog I have no problem listening to the audio from the internal speaker. But the ones that are astro all I get is static from the internal speaker.
Is there a fix for this or is it the digital... We spent alot of $$$ and I cant listen to our units when im in the equipment room.....

There are 3 ways to listen to the recovered ASTRO audio in the DIU3000: 1. Plug in a handset on the front panel of the DIU3000 at its RJ-11 handset jack; 2. connect an external 8 ohm speaker to the rear connector on the DIU3000; or, 3. listen to the speaker on your console or desk set, which is connected to the DIU3000 via either a short V.32 connection, or a phone company provided 4-wire VG 3000 private line.
Hope this helps.

To be a bit more precise, you need a VG-3002 (Voice Grade) Type 5, 4-wire dedicated circuit between the Quantar and the DIU3000, which in turn connects to your console. This arrangement allows the digital Motorola proprietary ASTRO 9600 signaling to be carried between the DIU3000 and the Quantar ASTRO modem, as well as analog voice in support of so-called "mixed mode" operations (e.g., ASTRO voice and analog FM).
