XTS5000 programming cable needed?

Post by Mercenary »

Can anyone advise me were i can locate a non-Motorola, USB programming cable for the XTS5000R that works. I absolutely refuse to pay over two hundred dollars for a cable that probally cost under fifteen
dollars to make. Motorola must be smoking crack.

Does it have to be a USB cable? They have serial port cables on Ebay for pretty cheap (under $30.00).

If you don't have serial ports, you can buy a serial card ($5.00) and you're set.

let's see

$3000-$4000 radio

+

$29.95 ebay cable

=

$3029.95 to 4029.95 BRICK

i think the cable is worth every penny if it doesn't smoke the radio.
