Is the radio serial number 123abc4567 or something like that?

You're using an old version of CPS, that's for sure. Latest is R05.02.00.

Hit the side button 5 times after turning the radio on and it'll give you the serial number along with lots of other numbers that are extremely helpfull.

I dunno, but those dsp and host versions are the same as most of the abc123 radios.

If that is one of the "alpha" radios then the older retail software will not read it. Upgrade your CPS. Some people here stated the new CPS is capable of reading/writing to the "alpha" radios.

I'll agree - CPS version prior to 4 can't read the "alpha" codeplugs

I don't know - I only went by the comments in my MOL account:

This CPS is for dealers only supporting PR1500 radios - ASTRO 25 Portable CPS Version: R05.02.00

It's a run-on sentence. I don't know if they mean that this CPS is "for dealers only", or the CPS is "only supporting PR1500 radios" ??

ALthough M would like to think that anyone with the CPS is a dealer, and a new version supporting only one model seems dumb ......
I suppose someone that's actually installed it can comment.

No big deal as I won't be programming any PR1500 radios anyway. As long as I get what I paid for, I'm happy.
