ASTRO PROGRAMMING

Post by RonJeremy »

I have few astro's and I can't read them with all RSS's I have. It's always the codeplug too new message. I know that the RSS upgrades the radio codeplug and I tried with a CPS, Version 02.01.00 but I got an error

Anyone can help?

You'll need newer versions of your programming software.

Time to break out the wallet and call Moto parts.

Yes I know that... I tried a 98 version and it's too old. The CPS I have is a 2002 version and I got an error. Do I need a RSS between 98 and 2002?

This may be too obvious but make sure you are using the correct CPS:

Astro 25 for XTS5000/2500 etc

or

Astro CPS for XTS3000/Astro Saber

Also, what was the error you got when trying to read it with the "2002" CPS?

Finally, by your last question I am guessing you mean you think your "2002" CPS is too new. Older codeplugs can be read with all subsequent versions of the CPS.

Maybe you're right. I'm not using the right software.

ASTRO SPECTRA PLUS CPS
Version R02.01.00

When I try to read the device it says:

Radio Info is incorrect
Error Code = e4000398

Is there a difference between Astro Spectra and Astro Spectra PLUS CPS's ?

Tks!

Astro Spectra Plus is covered under the Astro25 software, as far as I know. R02.01 is old... it may be old enough to predate the XTS5000/XTL5000.

At any rate, you'll need regular Astro Spectra software. Current revision is R04.01.04, IIRC.
