I have few astro's and I can't read them with all RSS's I have. It's always the codeplug too new message. I know that the RSS upgrades the radio codeplug and I tried with a CPS, Version 02.01.00 but I got an error

Anyone can help?

Yes I know that... I tried a 98 version and it's too old. The CPS I have is a 2002 version and I got an error. Do I need a RSS between 98 and 2002?

This may be too obvious but make sure you are using the correct CPS:

Astro 25 for XTS5000/2500 etc

or

Astro CPS for XTS3000/Astro Saber

Also, what was the error you got when trying to read it with the "2002" CPS?

Finally, by your last question I am guessing you mean you think your "2002" CPS is too new. Older codeplugs can be read with all subsequent versions of the CPS.

Is there a difference between Astro Spectra and Astro Spectra PLUS CPS's ?

Astro Spectra Plus is covered under the Astro25 software, as far as I know. R02.01 is old... it may be old enough to predate the XTS5000/XTL5000.

At any rate, you'll need regular Astro Spectra software. Current revision is R04.01.04, IIRC.
