Astro CPS 06.00.00

Post by motorola_otaku »

Has anyone got theirs yet? I'm still waiting on 05.00.00.

Some excerpts from the Readme file:

-XTL 1500 and XTL 2500 radios are supported in this release.

-New "O5" control head is supported for the XTL 5000 radios. (R06.00.00 req.)

-Control Head background color selection for new radios supported. (R06.00.00 req.)

-HearClear supported. (WTF???)

-MPL supported. (R06.00.00 req.)

It also contains instructions on how to flash upgrade a radio to the new O5 control head. Since I don't know the forum legalities of cut & pasting readme text direct, I'll skip over that.

Granted, I've been out of the loop for awhile, so some of this may be old news.

What radios do you own?: Too many!

COOL! Me too, I'll download it as soon as I get home.

EDIT: On second thought, it's only showing version 6 for Astro 25 mobile CPS.

I'll have to see what's up with that...

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

I think the above is/was a typo. The XTL's are only supported by the Astro25 CPS software. Perhaps the MPL will be supported for the Astro Spectra's in future releases...Lets keep the fingers crossed!

BTW: Install manuals etc for the O5 head are now on MOL. I would imaging that the heads are now released or quite soon.

Huh, isn't that one and the same?
I thought Astro25 mobile did the Astro Sprectra's

According to the readme's for the Astro25 portable and mobile CPS, MPL is now supported.

Astro25 supports XTS/XTL5000, XTS2500, XTS1500, MT1500, PR1500, etc. I've been told (though haven't confirmed) that Astro25 doesn't support Astro Spectra or Astro Saber.

Astro and Astro25 are two different animals.

I know the Astro Saber has it's own CPS, and I just looked at what I have installed on my laptop .. hmm Astro Spectra 4.01.
Let me install the Astro25 R06 and see ... oh boy, I'm getting a cute intro video ... OK, lets open an Astro Spectra codeplug .......

AARRGGGHH - unsupported model !

My bad - I guess you are correct - the Astro25 Mobile CPS does not support the Astro Spectra.... :(

Durrr, my bad. It is indeed Astro 25 CPS, and not Astro Mobile/Portable CPS.

Still, MPL in anything Astro is a huge step forward. And I'm still trying to wrap my brain around why HearClear is in there.. maybe they're planning on releasing 900MHz versions of the lower-tier radios?

Quite likely, if they truly want to replace the Jedi series with the PR1500.

On what radio? An XTL5000? XTS5000? Does it have the correct firmware revision?

Sorry about that. XTS5000 Host/DSP 5.01.0 When checked in ZN/CH assignment it defaults the PL to CSQ. and works that way. I just cant get it (MPL)to assign to a button or menu press. Am i missing something?

I have 6 Spectras with MPL and no problems

Thanks

Yep. If you'll read the first post, MPL and HearClear require at least 06.00.00 firmware. To date, no Astro product has offered either of those.

Dude, your firmware is too old to support MPL. You need firmware R06.00.00 to support that. All of this is taken right off of the Readme file from MOL.

Why did you "get ripped"?

When you bought the radio MPL was not available as a feature. So you got what you paid for.

MOL finally updated my account...

They always give me one, but not the other when the updates come out. I have to call them every time. Oh, well...
