Looking for information on Motorola Spirit HP50 UHF Radio's

Post by troymelina »

Hi everyone! I have a question about the Motorola Spirit HP50 UHF Radio's. I have never owned a pair before and I just won a set of two off ebay for a very good price, The auction stated looks and works like new. I was wondering what is the reputation of these models. Are they good and rugged and are they easily to program. Any info would be helpful, thanks

If we're talking Motorola Spirit HP they're identical to the SP50 compact other than having factory pre-programming for yellow dot and brown dot repeated 5X each with different PL's. Programs with SP50 RSS. Just don't run them at 4 watts, the little 9044 battery isn't really up to the task.
Believe at high power it's estimated at 4 hr.s on a 5-5-90 cycle.
