XTS 3000R Escutcheon

Post by d119 »

I know this was previously discussed but I can't find it.

Does anyone know if the "Motorola XTS3000 R" escutcheon is orderable from Motorola?

The radio in question has the escutcheon on it but it is the wrong size. The Escutcheon is smaller than the plastic cutout in the front of the case.

Also, is it possible to order a black case for this radio? Is there any physical difference in the rest of the radio that would cause a standard XTS 3000 black case to not fit on it?

It's currently a yellow unit. I realize it won't be a true "R" unit if the case is changed (pressurization, etc. required), but what's involved in changing the case?

And if it's decided to be left yellow, can the correct escutcheon be ordered? What's the part #?

Does anyone have the correct escutcheon they can sell me?

you can get anything for a price..lol

If i am not mistaken, i think an authorized dealer can order the escutcheon.

You can order a black case, however it will cost about $325.

I myself have an XTS3000R with a yellow case and badly need to change it to black. It doesnt look very good to carry a yellow radio at a nuclear facility (at least theres no megenta on it).

I have a detailed service manual at home and can probably get the p/n's later this evening if someone doesnt post them before that.

Here are the part #'s your looking for if you have a Model 3:

Black Ruggedized M3 Case - NTN8652G
Motorola front label in Yellow - 3385619B03

I'm in the process of doing the same converting a yellow radio to black
but keeping a yellow front label.

Hope this helps.

You don't have to buy the expensive [NTN8652G = $368.00 list] front assembly if all your electronics are working correctly you can just replace the plastic.

For example a model III black 'R' housing, 1585507D15, is $85.25 list.

You should have the basic and detailed service manuals to show you how and you will need to find someone to order the parts who has been cleared by Motorola security [thanks to Nick] or you won't be able to order the labels.

Basic Service: 6881083C85, $16.50 list
Detailed Service: 6881083C90, $45.50 list

OK. Well let's assume I am going to just leave the case yellow as it is. At least it'll be easy to find.

Does anyone have the correct labels (larger size) for the XTS 3000R? I don't really care if it's the yellow label or the black one.

Can anyone order it for me if noone has one to sell?

Thanks!
