HHCH Dual Radio for Astro

Post by 4n6inv »

Does anybody have any experience with using a single HHCH (LCD Display Model) with a high power VHF and high power UHF radio? I know that you can do it with the XTL-5000 and an SIU box, but didn't know if it could be done with the Astro Spectras. I know you can use the two digit LED HHCH with dual Astros, but wondered if you could do it with the LCD HHCH. Any one? Yea? Nea?

Thanks.

All the documention for the dual radio Astro Spectra used the normal 2 digit HHCH. I have not seen one with the W3 head, but I suspect there is a SP verison out there. In fact, I am pretty sure there is one based upon one members comments and where he works.

The XTL5000 verison I believe works with the W3 style head. However, if you are to make one yourself, I believe the radio actually needs to be flashed for dual radio operation based upon the Motorola price sheets. I have not seen one myself (Dual XTL) yet, so I don't know offhand.
