XTS3000 to show MDC info on screen?

Post by Hightower »

My AS3 shows the MDC info on screen, but I can't figure out how to program the XTS to show MDC-1200 ID data on screen. What am I doing wrong?

Does the XTS 3K show MDC alias? I know the AS3 sure the heck didn't

Thanks guys

Neither the XTS3000 nor the Astro Saber support ID aliasing for MDC1200. They'll show you the unit ID (if Digital ID Display is enabled in the flashcode), but not tie it back to a name through the call lists.

Both will support, if enabled in the flashcode, Soft ID, which, on ASTRO digital transmissions *only* allows you to send an 8-character alphanumeric ID to the receiving unit.

Thanks guys. It's been over a year since I programmed the AS3. How fast I forget, but you have to admit there are gobs more options in the Astro CPS vs. a HT1250 or HT1000.

Thanks again :D

You guys are great

You need to have option H14 - Display ID in the radio. If you don't, you can purchase it from a MSS. I think the flashupgrade costs around $70. This is something that is usually done at the shop and will take a few days for the shop to get. Its not an "off the shelf" kind of thing.

If you have Astro software, read your radio. Under "Display options" if it has the Display ID or PTT ID box in there their that's not greyed out, you already have it.

Forgot to add, to upgrade the software is that an actual adding of a part or just a program has to be downloaded to the radio? And if so just a program something someone might have to send me I can load in the radio thanks
