AS3 RSS response time is Verrrrry Sloooow

I just got an Astro Saber III HT and have been sucessfully been able
to program it with the ASTROP RSS software. (I'm away from home,
otherwise I would list the specific version number).

Anyway, the response time after entering some of the parameters
or changing personality numbers is very slow. It might take 30
seconds or more before the computer responds and allows me to
continue.

I am using a 386DX PC. Is there anything I can do to make this
work faster (other than getting a faster PC)?

program it on a faster computer, I program mine with a 400mhz computer

Some of the functions (changing Rx or TX mode to or from Astro is the biggest) requires the program to restructure it's resident memory of the entire codeplug, hence the delay ESPECIALLY on bigger codeplugs. This is normal, even with my 500Mhz it's slow to change.

CPS doesn't do this, as an FYI.
