Can't read CPO40 using CPS R02.04.00 error #2437
Using commercial series CPS V R02.04.00 to read the CPO40 (UHF)
Model MDH50RDC9AA1AN VER.NO:R03.00.01 and I get an error
#2437 codeplug version not supported, I have access to the radio
using Tuner for Professional Radios R02.05.00, so I can read serial
no.etc.. Is there a newer version of software for this model ?, or has
anybody got a codeplug written using the software that I have that
they could send me a copy and I could try to clone it??. any ideas
please..

Yes, latest version of the CPS is 5.02, I believe. And sorry, cloning in an older codeplug will not work with the Commercial Series CPS...it does a version check before writing, and will give the same error. You're truly stuck with needing new CPS.

I have CPS R05.01.00 now, can read codeplug from radio but it is password protected, previous programmer will not release password to my friend he wants to continue to re-programme it for him, he is 150 miles away, S&H and time prohibitive as well as a lost in transit occuring,
can anyone help out with a codeplug using this software?

Tried that, I eventually found a copy with the same model number codeplug and firmware (misnamed(**)) amongst my backup copies and I got an error "2426 source and destination must be be same" when I tried to write/clone it, with and without password, I think i'll have to get latest CPS to solve it.
Thanks to all for help.

problem is that I cannot read original that is in radio, as its password protected, I have no problem reading copies that I have on file protected and unprotected, just cannot write write similar one with same model etc to radio, I can only assume that I have an earlier version than the one in which is was written to the last time.. that seems to be the general problem with the CPS....

Humble apologies to members who posted replies, I was wondering last night why the R5.01 would read codeplug, look for password and when I attempted to write/clone a codeplug that I had a copy off it would not, and gave me an error "2426 source and destination must be be same", so I looked again at codeplug, similar model # 4 channels but with a 2AN at the end instead of 1AN in my haste I forgot to read model # correctly, it was for the 16 Ch UHF set, not misnamed at all, my error.
Trying now to locate password in this codeplug using Winhex as suggested as an exercise since its a different one to what I really need.

Another trick to look for PASSWORD:
1). Remove EEPROM from main board.
2). Read EEPROM with EPROM Programmer and save as file (*.hex, *.bin).
3). Use hex editor to look for password.
4). Replace EEPROM to main board.
5). Be carefull.......!!!!!!

The saga continues.
Can read a sample password now in Winhex on a codeplug of mine that I had saved with a password, however its the wrong model 2AN instead of 1AN therefore the offset will not show up a match when I read the 1AN codeplug from the radio, I am looking either side of that offset now hoping to find the password.
Thanks for all the help.
