Anybody have or know how i can corect the following problem i have.
I can send and recieve emails fine but cant send emails with an attachment.
Windows 2000 with outlook express 6 .
I thought it might have been my Mcafee version 9.0 but i uninstalled it and still cant email an attachment back to me or anyone else.
I dont think i have a problem recieving attachments from others as far as i know because i recieve attachments and im able to open and read them = Just cant send email attachments.
Well give me the bad and good on this = Thinking a big bullet into the monitor at the moment.
Probably a simple fix but ill be darned if i can figure it out.
PS : Im attempting to email out attachments on a email to a couple of members here on the bd that reqeusted help/info on the Maxtrac 99c conversion process.
Thanx In advance .

When you create a new email, then click Insert, is File Attachment grayed out? Or can you click it and get an error?
Also, you can try right clicking on the file you want to send, select Send To, and Mail Recipient.

Run an online antivirus scan from somewhere like http://housecall.trendmicro.com
What you are describing is exactly what happens to those antivirus programs like McAfee and Symantec. Both have similar vulnerabilities which result in exactly what you are describing. Reinstalling does absolutely no good since the machine is infected.
Running a virus scan using your installed antivirus will result in a virus not being found. Truth is, it is ignored because the software gets hacked by the virus.
Run the online scanner. Note what virus it finds. Then get the specific removal tool.
I spent days troubleshooting a problem just like this. I thought that the outgoing mail server at my ISP was screwed up. I soon found out that a virus did this. I switched from one antivirus platform to the other (Symantec to McAfee). The same thing happened months later. I now use Trendmicro and haven't had any problems.
