MTX8250 RSS Squelch adjustment

Post by fallspolice »

Does anyone know how to change the squelch in conventional mode so I don't hear the static while my radio is in scan mode? Also I see the channels flipping through on the display screen. I am used to the jedi radios where the display shows you are in scan but dosen't flip through all the channels on the screen.

Thanks

to adjust the actual squelch softpots, you need the Professional Radio Tuner CPS which is a seperate product from the CPS itself.

as far as the channels scrolling, never seen that on any of my Pro series radios but then I again I never owned an 8250 or 9250.

I think the problems are related. The Tuner comes on the same CD as the RSS, though it is a standalone application.

Thanks for your help,

i thought it was independant to the program???? Look under the start menu where the CPS was installed, it should be another program listed there...

None of my 8250s have the channel numbers scroll when scanning. I expect it is because your squelch is open or very loose.

I can't seem to find anything else on the disc about a tuner. Does anyone have more details about this.
Thanks

Put the disc in & restart the installation program. Before it does much of anything, it should give you the choice of installing the CPS, or the tuner, or both. Just choose tuner & you should be good to go.
