Astro Saber III - Trunked System Programming Questions

Post by EDACSMAN »

As my user name implies I am an ge/ericsson guy. I have almost no experience with Motorola, however, I am quickly figuring out the software.
I have an Astro Saber III with a lot of options in it. I am attempting to program it for receive only on one or more trunked systems. Currently the radio has three trunked systems programmed in it. I am having a difficult time altering most of the trunked system info. & it won't let me create any new trunked systems. When I try to alter info. it shows me sunglasses. Can anyone help.

Thanks.

In Motorola radio software, there is something called a 'system key' which is required to add/modify most trunked parameters. Every system has a unique system key. It is essentially a small file which you need to point the RSS/CPS towards before it'll let you mess with the trunking parameters for that particular system.

Normally, only the system owners & possibly their service shops have access to these system keys. It's their front-line defense against unauthorized people obtaining access to their systems.

FYI, you can't ask for system keys here. My best suggestion is to get a scanner.
