Problem Maratrac HHCH display

I have VHF maratrac with hand held control head. A while back I noticed the display was blank. I can still hear traffic on the channels in scan, but the only thing that functions on it is the power switch and volume. The scan switch and channel switch do not work. I originally thought that it was my control cable as it was well used, so I put a new control cable on. Same problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I have not explained sufficiently or more info is needed, please let me know and I will try to add more
