Using a CB Mic instead of HMN1056D

Post by Bail »

Got ahold of a maxtrac radio that did not come with no mic. So after looking around the house I found a CB mic back from my days on CB.

After some research I found that the mic uses 4 wires

Sheild - Audio Shield
Yellow - Audio Lead
Black - TX Ctrl
White - RX Ctrl

I was wondering if it's possible to wire up the mic for the Maxtrac. I have the RJ45 Crimper and crimps but I not sure which wire goes to what.

Any ideas?
Thanks

After doing some more I found the wiring for the maxtrac (Correct me if I'm worng)

Pin 1-8
1- PB1
2- PB2
3- Hook
4- GND*
5- Mic Audio*
6- PTT*
7- SCI
8- Handset Audio*

So I assume I hook those wires up to Pins 4,5,6 and 8? But I am not sure which way how.

here is a quick diagram on How the mic is layed out

Still stumped as to which wire goes to which No. Pin for the RJ 45[/img]

Sorry, the CB mic will not work. CB mic's do not have the correct level.

The Maxtrac, Radius, ect and allmost all Motorola mobile radios require a active mic. This has a amplifier that runs off the bias from the radio.

Go to fleabay if nobody here has one. The 1056 shows up on ebay all the time in the $5-15 range.
