i now have some ATS Sabers and can confirm that yes, System Saber RSS reads/programs the ATS radios.
However...
it was my understanding that ATS radios were for LTR trunking (they also do conventional). but, when i read the radios and look at the model info, it says they are Smartnet. and, when i go to trunking configuration, all of the programming options are for motorola trunking.
the model #'s in the radios indicate that they are in fact ATS radios (H44YUB5170CN), so somebody hasn't just blasted a smartnet codeplug into them. so..are ATS Sabers in fact LTR-compatible?
here is what i can confirm:
System Saber and ATS Saber share the same service manual
System Saber and ATS Saber share the same users manual
System Saber and ATS Saber appear to share the same RSS
if anybody has any other info on these, i'm very interested. i'm kinda surprised at what little google has been able to provide.
(mods - apologies in advance if starting a new thread for this was inappropriate, but i figured this is more of a general 'what is this radio capable of' than just a programming issue...)
Thanks to all for any info you may have.
