Disabling Ign Sense on Spectra

Post by ku4zs1 »

Is there anything in the RSS that can be set to disable the Ign sense line? I just want to put power on the power plug and go! Annoying to have to also apply 12v to the DB15 connector as well.

I haven't found it yet myself.

I think you're stuck having to provide a second source of +12V, switched or otherwise.

Aggravating, isn't it !?!?!?

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

all you can do is jump the ignition sense to the main power wire. it has to be there. you could try jumping it internally.

I thought there was jumpers on the bottom side of the command board that could be configured to eliminate the ignition sense input. Though you would still need the cable there with the speaker pigtail.

I'll have to search and find the info, but i know this was discussed on here not too long ago and it was mentioned that you need to remove the command board to get to the bottom side of it.

On radios with the W5/W7 heads, install control head jumper JU1 and leave JU2 in [JU2 is in by default]

Be aware that this will feed A+ back out the accessory connector ignition pin, which can actually be useful if you want to power an accessory there.
