I have a vhf visar that when i turned it on today had a low tone instead of the normal high tone heard on power up. It seems to be working ok but how do i fix it and what does it mean

I too have also just noticed mine started doing it about a couple days ago. Any one experianced with these radios know what it means?

i've never worked on one but from what i understand that radio is basically an ht1000 in a different housing. someone correct me if i'm wrong about that but it sounds like a bad battery connection.

Mine does that too. It's the tone that you hear before the controller is initialized; but the serial number reads correctly so I don't think that that's the problem. Hope someone knows why they do that.

I have had a few do that in the past and by reading/writing the radio with rss clears the problem. Don't know the details of why but I figured something got hosed up in the codeplug.
