Spectra Acting Strangely

Post by ffemt1764 »

Ok I installed my A9 UHF spectra and system 9000 siren in my suburban this morning, and well, there is very little if any receive audio. The radio transmits wonderfully an dI can hear it quite well on my other uhf radios...however when I key my uhf 1250 up I cannot hear the audio on my spectra...I have tried 3 different speakers and no difference...I turn the volume on the spectra up to 15 and I can barely, and I mean barely hear any audio come out of the spectra speaker... so what am I missing? Also as a item to mention, the busy light continually flashes/stays on unless the radio is transmitting...and I can hear a faint static like sound, but not much more as well the audio just isnt there...did I miss something in the rss when I set the radio up? Anybody that can help me please do!

If the busy light is staying on or flashing then the radio is receiving another strong signal, or interference, that is keeping the signal you do want to hear from being stong enough to hear.

Which would have to be something rather severe if keying up a HT near the vehicle can't talk over the signal or interference being received!

I had securenet turned on in a Spectra dash mount when it wasn't present and got a fail message but then the radio would operate correctly except transmit.

If that happens to be it though i will have to remember that!

well that was the problem, securenet enabled with no secure module installed...disable securenet and boy does this sucker receive some audio...well that solved that mystery...
