Looking for R-2001A Service Manual

Post by jabercrombie »

I have a R-2001A service monitor open on my service bench for repair with some burned resistors. Unfortunately, I do not have a service manual for the "A" version model and the problem appears to be related to the high voltage and low voltage supplies. Models B thru D use different supplies so my other manuals are of little help. Anyone have one?

That manual has been out of print & NLA for so long......
your best bet would be finding one at a ham fest.

My two bits worth:
I loaned a manual to another member, you can borrow it when he returns it.

The power supplies are not too easy to work on in these models.
There is a 68 ohm resistor in the oven power switch circuit on the control board that will burn out, as it is under rated.
This will cause no oven voltage.

I used to repair these things years ago.

Pins 1 & 2 12 VDC
Pin 4 Ground

Use a heavy conductor (16 guage or better) as short as possible.
