Post by Gocart878 »

I want to buy a maxtrac radio to alert our siren, we use MDC-1200 to complete the process with a small relay to close dry contacts. is this capable? which pin, the 16 or the 5 or both do this? please let me know.

You need a 16 pin maxtrac in order to do this. It is not within the capabilites of 5 pin boards to perform this.

I have seen a 5 pin modded to be 32 channels before - but was never enlightend as to how that trick worked (possibly firmware and memory chip or something like that, who knows)....

Either way, make sure it's 16 pin's and you should be good. Make sure you stick with the Maxtrac 300's - the 120's and other versions that are "limited" may have 16 pins and not do what your looking for. GM300's should also work.
