Racing Radios 2-Way Headset and XTS5000

Post by baw »

Greetings all! Came across this forum via Google.

I use a Racing Radios 2-way headset with my Nextel phone. However, my employer is equipping us with XTS5000 radios in the near future and I'd like to able to use my headset.

I assume I'll need to purchase a BDN6676 which will provide me with a 3.5mm jack (I think this is a threaded jack). I should then be able to solder a 3.5mm threaded connector onto my headset cable and be good to go. I think I am on the right track, but I'd like to see if someone can confirm this will work.

Thanks in advance.

Why on earth does a racing team need XTS5000s?

I'm not with a racing team. I just happen to use a 2-way headset that is manufactured by a company that makes racing equipment.
