XTL 2500/5000 "05" head battery drain

Post by mich1tex »

When you have it program to soft power in CPS "blank" in the ing sense location. Over a weekend if you don't power off before turning the ing off the battery will die, even though the radio turns off with the key.

I have heard a solution that if you put a jumper between 14 and 15 on the control head and set the ing Sense to required this will solve the problem.

I just seeing if other people have seen this problem.

I have a XTL-2500 remote mount on the bench, I programed the Ign switch to "REQUIRED" and have constant hot going to the Brick, and Control head. When power is applied to the Yellow sense lead the radio pulls .6 Amps, when power is removed from the yellow lead, 0.0 amps.

I have also heard about this jumper, and it has been brought to M's attention. It appears that the remote mount radios work properly.
