New XTS3000 and Astro Spectra CPS out?

Post by RFguy »

I hear that there is new CPS out for XTS3000 and Astro Spectra.

I think that it is 5.00.02

Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

They just put it up on MOL today:

ASTRO SABER & XTS 3000 CUSTOMER PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE R05.00.02
===========================================================================
Please be aware that DOS RSS is no longer supported. Once the radio has been programmed by CPS version R03.00.00 or greater, DOS RSS will no longer read the radio.

New Radio Features Supported:
------------------------------
-Support for 800 MHz Rebanding
CPS Enhancements in this Release:
---------------------------------

- The CPS now supports incremental installs. This allows upgrading to the new version of CPS without uninstalling the previous version first. The previous version must be version R04.01.04 or later.

- Clone Express is now supported by the CPS. This feature significantly reduces the time required to clone a radio when you want to preserve the ID's within the radio. This feature provides the Clone Wizard functionality, including "Read Radio ID's" with one mouse click. Please refer to the help for further information.

- The Advanced System Key feature has been expanded to support the attachment of multiple keys in the CPS provided that all system IDs are unique.

- Drag and drop between ASTRO Saber & XTS 3000 radios, and MTS2000/MCS2000 is now supported by the CPS.

- The tables now support Fill Up/Down for copying the same value across multiple rows. To change the value for a field on all records, switch to the alternate table view, change the value in the first record and select 'Fill Down' to copy the value to all records.

Please refer to the CPS Online Help for more information on these features.

Can you see which part number it's supposed to be?

RVN418*R shows as R05.00.00

RVN418*S, which one would presume was the latest, shows as having been cancelled.

Is this correct, or just more whacky Moto fun for those of us not to be blessed with anything but basic MOL access?

glad they've added drag and drop from the MTS2000 CPS, this makes life SO much easier when upgrading MTS2000 users to the XTS series!

Sweet. They never did add the 5.00.00 to our account (left it at 4.01.04) but now I see the 5.00.02! Downloading now...

Only differences I see is:

Astro25 Style icons

Option box for the obstrunicated (sp?) trunking option (view only for me...firmware/flashport option?)

Check box (checked if the radio/codeplug is capable of rebanding)

Other than that, so far everything else seems to be the same.

the $64k question is

DOES THE 3K need new firmware to be "rebanded"?

if so, what are the new firmware revision #'s.

methinks that the 3k just got a breath of fresh air... *IF* they are going to upgrade the firmware one last time for rebanding... maybe they'll give new dsp firmware as well (!)

(remember, the 3k is a discontinued product... it's NLA)

Depending on the system, its either CPS or CPS with Flashupgrade. XTS3k is listed either way. Astro Saber needs to be 1meg and a greater than 1996 spectra.
