XTS5000 VHF & Commander RM

My VHF XTS5K works flawlessly in scan until I install the commander remote mike. The scan audio then fades in and out on receive. Anyone experienced this problem? The mike works fine on my VHF and UHF XTS3Ks

Looking at Dougs XTS VER firmware updates looks like I answered my question....

"XTS5000 w/Commander mic has no volume control after power-up until the radio has unmuted once Issue Update"

yeah there is an SRN about this

you need FW 4.03 if i remember correctly to correct it.

the problem being that the 123abc radio will be hard to get uplifted thru the depot.
