For the one with bad receive, check to make sure you don't have a broken antenna jack connection on the rf board, very common with the Genesis series. And if it was broken it would still transmit, though eventually you will have a dead PA because of it.. Seen it plenty of times.
For the HT600E owner.. Well, if one channel doesn't transmit there is a reason for it, either that channel is not set with a transmit frequency or it is set too far from the normal split and the VCO is unlocking. Does the radio emit a tone when you try to transmit on that channel?
As for changing the bandsplit.. NO! You can not just change the bandsplit on a Genesis series. The only way to do so is replace the entire rf board for one of the split you want, do a full alignment, and start over. Your better off finding another radio.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side and it holds the universe together.

You can swap the entire RF board between radios. The only HT600E specific parts are the frame and top and the controller. Though they are nearly the same as an MT1000 99ch.
I take it your interested in changing the bandsplit of the HT600E by swapping the RF board out?

Had one on the bench today, TX seemed ok but the RX kept dropping out when working a distant station, same thing when connected through an aerial adapter to an external aerial. Turned out to be 2 broken solder joints at the top of the RF board, a fairly easy fix..kb0nly wrote:For the one with bad receive, check to make sure you don't have a broken antenna jack connection on the rf board, very common with the Genesis series.
