Considering Sinclair SD224 or Andrew/Decibel DB224.
The Sinclair is $325 more expensive. The antennas are electrically equivalent (6db omni, 9db offset gain).
Is the Sinclair worth the extra $325?

i think you'll find the sinclair to be about 20lbs heavier than the DB.
it's built like a brick outhouse... designed for ice, etc.

You're thinking of the PD340, which used to be a Phelps-Dodge antenna, yes? Decibel builds a clone of that antenna, known as the DB264. Quite rugged.Birken Vogt wrote:For what it's worth I think the Celwave/RFS version of the 4 dipole antenna is the best one around...take a look at that as well.
Center conductor portion of the elements pointing down (presumably more lightning protection) and cable harness interior to the mast, and heavier built.
