Astro serial number change

Post by saberjerk »

How do you change the serial number in a astro codeplug without getting checksum errors? No specific radio in mind.
I read the batlab model specific page and it mentions this but doesn't go into specifics. Big supprise :(
I guess this would be applicable for any astro, mobile or portable I don't know.

The only way I'm aware of is forcing a codeplug with the desired serial number into the radio with LAB...then retuning.

Well that's the problem. It doesn't have the desired serial number.
How do I change it and fix the checksum error?

I know this can be done. :D I guess there is still money to be made.
Too bad batlabs can't keep things up to date.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

The question that comes to my mind, and that of others, is why does this radio S/N need to be changed?

The first rule of number changing is don't ask about number changing...

Probably trying to whore a radio with someone else's codeplug. It'll be funny when he starts complaining that the radio doesn't work because the alignment values are off...

I've run into this problem as well.

Blow in an IMBE codeplug, but the serial number changes.

I just want my original serial number back.

Give the guy a break...
