Anyone ever hook up a siren to a highpower vhf W3 spectra?
I want to control siren functions over the HHCH and programmed the top and side buttons as Airhorn and Srn (top buttons) and wail, yelp, PA (side buttons). But this is not working with the current set up when hooked up.
This is what I got:
Astro Siren HLN1439
HKN4363C spectra to siren cable
Alternatively, I also have a DEK and a HKN6145A spectra to siren to DEK cable, if all fails.
I have done some searches (see below), but was not able to turn up any answers. Any insights and advice is greatly appreciated. TIA

FYI:
The host/dsp on his spectra is version 8/6 (yes, old, but whatcha gonna do).
According to http://www.batlabs.com/arc/specsirn.pdf he's got all the right parts he needs.
What's installed:
HLN1241D DEK
HKN6145A - siren to radio cable w/dek cable.
Radio powers up, says siren 11 on self check. DEK will power up on startup - shows green backlighting (although dim) and then turns off. Enabled multiple dek's, still nothing.
Any idea's on what's up with it? Seem to have all the perfect ingredients for the perfect storm.

Bad cable maybe?
If all else fails.... try fresh with a codeplug and start from the bottom up.... had a problem once when I disabled Airhorn and could not even get the future on the RSS anymore... and had to start over and figured out what I did wrong... just a suggestion... try everything at basic.

Everything but the radio is brand new, fresh out of it's cardbord/pastic shell yesterday. Always worth looking in to.
There have to be other people out there with this sort of setup running... not many, but a couple others

OK the wife has a W3 AS with siren in her car but the siren unit is a HLN1185C and the cable is the standard Astro to Siren cable HKN4363A NOT the HLN1439 cable shown on Batlabs. You need a ‘1185C or later for an Astro. The speaker is a TDN6253A. She works at a local hospital and drives very fast...
You could make a cable yourself see here:

On her radio the orange button on the W3 is the air horn and the top side button is the yelp. There is no DEK.
