Astro Saber: How is a Securenet Module Installed?

Post by n6fnp »

I would like to install a Securenet module in my
Astro Saber III HT, but don't have the procedure
instructions.

I removed the radio from the case and looked behind
the keyboard/display unit, but didn't want to go any
further until getting some more info.

What do I need to do from this point to get to the
module location?

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

You need to disassemble the all the boards (display etc). This requires the 4? screws and the ribbon connectors. There will be one open connector behind the vocon board that will have the space for the module. It goes here...but once you remove the front display/screws and ribbon cables, your golden.

I'll see if I can dig up some pics.

Pj,

Thanks fro the quick response to my posting.

If you can post some pictures, it would be great. I won't be doing this any
time soon, so no rush on my part.
