I have a CDM 1550 LS that I am using on conventional mode. I have programmed it and have two issues that I can not seem to resolve.
When the radio is on talk around mode, the transmitter makes an awful screeching sound on the receiving radio.
I had the same problem at first on regular repeater mode, but when I turned the transmit power down to 25 watts from 40 it stopped.
The other problem is receiver squelch, I set the reverse burst to " non- standard", as we are using a Kenwood TKR-8400 system, and set the muting to "And/Or" but I still get a large squelch crash at the end of recieving.
Is there an internal squelch gate adjustment inside this radio? If so where, and how do you adjust it??
Thanks

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
the reverse burst is for transmit, not recieve so that wouldn't affect your screeching sound. the and/or setting is for more than 1 option on recieve like quick call so it will unmute for your dpl/tpl and/or qcII. put a meter on your antennae and make shure it isn't grounding out and see how much is being rejected back to the radio.
