VRS - YLE1009B

I have a VRS and I am looking for information. Which radio is it designed to operate with, will it work on a Syntor X9000, etc. CAn anyone help?

Outside Motorola Label Model: P2017B.

Botton of housing label: YLE1009B.

Main board label: YLE4009B.

Has a UHF Rnet radio inside.

The P2017B generally indicates that it's a Portable Product and YLE indicates the UHF band not VHF as you've assumed.

The P2017 is an Astro Spectra VRS-EP, UHF 403-470 MHz, 300 mW. The P2022 is the 2 watt UHF version. BTW, the exact frequency range split (403-470 MHz) is determined by the crystaled R-NET radio.

The R-NET chassis number determines the split:
HLE9316 - 403-416 MHz
HLE9317 - 416-430 MHz
HLE9019 - 450-470 MHz

P2017A ?
P2017B ?

Its just a minor revision. Motorola could have changed anything, like substituted SMD components for through hole components, changed the printed circuit board layout, used a new component part number because a component supplier changed their part numbers, updated the internal microprocessor firmware, whatever.... In other words unless you work for Motorola, you will probably never know what the actual difference is. It is remotely possible (not very often) that your radio system might require a certain revision level or higher to work correctly. Generally this minimum revision level would not apply to the entire product line, only specific combinations of equipment. Changes that apply to the entire product line would get a brand new Motorola part number (like going from a P2017B to a P2018A, keep in mind i just made up P2018A for this example and as far as I know its not a real part number).
