So what's the latest and greatest version of CPS for the XTS5000 radio ????

Well, the latest that I have is R07.00.01, but up until a few days ago I heard that R07.00.02 has been released. I have not seen it on MOL as of yet though.

7.00.02 is latest CPS for portables
