Motorolla 10 pin Microphone Connector - info please

I have a need to get a female connector - and any pin out info for the motorola microphone pictured.

I am developing a training prototype with voice recognition and simulated characters - now my contact wishes to use the real microphone for realisim. Initially i need only the mic key out, but since we have headsets i can guess he will want mic and (does this mic have speaker out?) as well.

That looks like the old MX300 series speaker mic.
Look up the pinouts on Batlabs for any of the MX series....

Any direction on where to find a female connector, part #, or a mic extension cable i can cut? I need about 6 of these.

I doubt there ever was an extension/female connector available.
The female end is the connector on the side of the portable radio, so there would not really be any need for one.

Probably only going to find those connectors on some old radios. Since they are around 25 - 30 years old, I doubt anyone would still have the part.
If I hadn't gotten rid of my last MX's several months ago, I could have pulled a few from some old radio bones.
Perhaps someone has some MX's to part out.
Otherwise, just open the male end of the connector you have, and solder onto the back side of the contact and make your own extension.

They are not NLA on MOL... YET.

They are about $60-$70 a pop... list.

If it were up to me I would just splice it, but they are asking to use spare mics unaltered. Any recommendations for a parts house - digikey came up dry and induscom.com has qty one.

I don't know where your going to find something like that cheap enough.

If they really want it done right, just purchasing the adapter may really be the only way -

They aren't cheap, but they are available for order. I don't think that connector was really used on anything else.

You can also look at used MX's on ebay - getting someone or going to Dayton and buying MX300's would have been your best bet, but you'll have to wait another year.

I have a few of these sockets from DOA STX portables.

Note: Once the socket is removed from the housings, there are no physical means to secure the plug to the socket...unless you are adept at using NASCAR tape.

I'll see how many I actually have later this evening AFTER I have my fill of tacos.
