XTS2500 Flashcode Question

Post by VE9MP »

The company that runs ambulance services around here just replaced all of their MTS2000's with new XTS2500's this past week...

500008-000410-5

Q806/G806 IMBE / APCO-25 Digital Operation
H14/G114 Digital ID Display
H38/G51 Smartzone Operation
Q173/G173 Smartzone OmniLink Operation
2B1 Future System Enhancement

What exactly is 2B1? I have never heard or seen it in a flashcode anywheres before...

I have no idea, but maybe it's ADP? The 2500's don't support actual DES/AES, but they do support a software encryption called ADP (Advanced Digital Privacy), so maybe they purchased that feature.

That could be possible, they replaced all of their MTS's with these and never changed the programming at all except for adding two digital talkgroups to the end of the Zone/Channel Assignment list...

The 2 channels are display as EHS DIG1 and EHS DIG2, and the Comm Supervisor won't tell anyone what they're purpose is for, just that they are for future use...

You got any idea Wavetar?

Motorola's Flash decoder says: 500008-000410-5 =

H14/G114 - Digital ID Display
Q806/G806 - ASTRO Digital IMBE
H38/G51 - SmartZone Operation
Q173/G173 - SmartZone OmniLink Operation
Q575 - XTS2500 3600 Signaling

When the XTS2500 first came out you could not get both 3600 and 9600 trunking in one radio at the same time. [it was either/or]

Now you can.

We ordered hardware encryption field kits recently for our 2500s and the order went through so they must be available now.

A friend decodes them for me.

I would guess it is a Windows app that engineers & ST's have.

I wish they would just put it on the CPS distribution disks for the rest of us.

"Works great."
____________

Not exactly.

It does not correctly report the latest options, as in the subject of this thread, where the actual feature "XTS2500 - 3600 Signaling" is reported as "Future System Enhancement"
