Rebanding firmware release date?
Anyone know when the rebanding firmware is set to be released? Mobile CPS support it in V5 but doesn't not take a rebanded freq with the current codeplugs.
My guess is that it could also be a flashport upgrade more than a HOST upgrade (or both).

From what I hear, it's being distributed already.
It also fixes a few other random bugs as well, like PTT ID display showing for .21 seconds.

Except for the inevitable stragglers, A and H have been done. I would expect other "groups" to follow suit quickly, as this has to do with compatibility with the mobile command posts using ITACs as well as the 40+ ITAC-programmed Quantars under the jurisdiction sister agency up the street, and is not directly related to system build-out in other respects.
Gotcha.
Lowband with the 800 still has some great coverage up route 20 out of Springfield to Tanglewood...just not both at the same time. I think I'll miss the old ball/spring/whips of death on the cars (along with all the other antenna's on them).

For what it is worth, my own experience WB on the Pike from Palmer has been spotty. In the B group, virtually every site acts as its own zone, and my own experience (limited, as I don't get out that way often) is that SZ re-affiliations take a long time (even though if you force vote, it snaps right in). On the other hand, the system is working better than expected in the areas N and W of Greenfield Circle, until you enter the twilight zone somewhere west of Florida. Coincidentally, the three sites in that region function as one zone.
I don't think anyone should, or does, expect the B group performance to achieve perfection. In those areas where people outnumber bears, though, the troops love having the portables.

True. I fogot about the Greenfield Circle of death. Going west up Route 2? out that way isn't too bad once your on top of the mountain. I did notice that East Deerfield is spotty. Supposely there is suppose to be a site on Mt Greylock, but last time I was there, I just saw the usual ham/tv/FM antenna's up there.
Either way, not easy.
