Desktrac Repeater?

Post by KI4M »

I have recently aquired a Desktrac UHF 40W repeater station. I know that it is not continuous duty etc. Plans are to throttle it down to 20w and either use that as the PA or use that do drive an external 100W PA. That is to be determined. Does anyone know the rear panel connections that I need to use to interface this with my controller? I need to know which pins to inject and take the audio from, ptt, ctcss, etc. Anyone that has done this your help would be greatly appreciated. Also if you can tell me if i have to change any settings in the desktrack or maxtrac rss that would be great also...

It will be used as a Ham 440 repeater. I have some continuous duty 110V 4'" square fans to aid in cooling the Maxtracs inside. I have a friend who works at a business that repairs gas pumps. They have continuous duty fans that are used to cool the pump heads/electronics even in hot humid weather. These things really move the air. Should keep the transmitting Maxtrac cool.
