ASTRO Spectra - RF Modem

I've spoken with a few people in the community in the last while, about problems they had with ASTRO Spectra's stuck in "RF MODEM" mode. Fixes tried by others included forcing in a new s-record, which offered no resolution.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to "fix" one of these radios, and I thought I would share this with the board as there is no information about it on here, or elsewhere that I could find.

It is a firmware-specific issue. The HOST firmware version of the RF MODEM radio (with 1-meg vocon) was:

D08.97.26

After flashing the radio with R11.25.00, the issue cleared up.

Before encountering version 8 host firmware in this spectra, I had not seen it before. Version 9 is for 512K boards, version 10 is ASTRO25, and version 11 is current "regular" firmware.

D08.97.26 was dated from 1997.
