I've looked at quite a few forums here and have found several references to the Maratrac siren having the ability to function without the radio but I have yet to find exactly how to make it work. Looking at the pinouts for the cable, I would assume that something has to be jumpered, powered or grounded for the HLN1300A DEK to think that it should be on. Does anyone have the explanation. I'd hate to fry the unit I have.
Thanks!

The Maratrac siren is actually very easy to wire up for standalone use.
On the DEK end of the control cable there will be an orange and green lead, the green should go to battery power and the orange is the ignition sense. Don't forget to fuse both!
At the Siren/PA amp box you should have a red and black from that end, these obviously need to be connected to power and ground as well. The black zip cord goes to the siren speaker.

Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side and it holds the universe together.

Thanks a bunch. I'll try that . You don't (by any chance) know the pin numbers that correspond to the colors, do you? I always like to double-check things.
