Astro Saber II on smartnet system

Hoping somebody can give me a little info. I am a police officer and we use a Motorola Type II Smartnet system. Our radios are mostly the MTS2000 portables and MCS2000 mobiles. I think some of the new guys are getting the XTS3000. Anyway question is, I have a Astro Saber II with the H38 Smartzone package and I want to use it on the system. I have the brand new Astro Saber CPS version 05.00.02. I have read my MTS on the MTSX software and got all the details for the system and set up the Saber. The Saber programs fine, but I cant get it to affiliate with the system. I am using the individual ID that has been assigned to the MTS. I have programmed a MTX8000 in the past using that same ID and had no problems. It worked fine transmitting and receiving. Any suggestions???

Assuming you have actually programmed the radio (that is, the system key issue, about which I'll say no more), and assuming by "can't get it to affiliate" you mean you press the key and get a bonk instead of a talk permit:

The first thing I'd do is go back and check that there aren't typos in the control channel entries (sorry to have to say it, but I've done it myself).

If the control channels are correct, then I'd suspect an RF issue with the radio itself: either it isn't putting out the ISW so that the system can hear it or it isn't receiving the OSW. This means benching the radio itself.

Ok I was able to adjust the ISW value and now it is transmitting and reaching the control channel, that seems ok. I can hear the key up fine on the other radios. Now Im trying to figure out what needs to be adjusted so it will receive. Is it the OSW value??? Any help would be great
