ASTRO SABER - No Audio

Post by Joe »

Gentlemen,
After my original post and trying the soloution presented I am still unable to achieve any audio output from my AS III.
I am now able to look at the radio with CPS and although the help menus are pretty good, I am still unable to "see" what I believe to be an error in my programming. I do not believe that I have a hardware problem, though I could be wrong.
I have included the original post and the only reply that I received. Any suggestions would be welcome at this point. I am also able to e mail the code plug if anyone would be kind enough to review it for me if that helps. This very frustrating, a great transmitter, no receiver.

Thanks again

I have an Astro Saber III VHF that I have programmed several modes and I get no audio output. I am trying to hear conventional systems, no digital. I have scoured the manual and RSS and cannot find an error that I may have made during programming.
Can anyone help me identify where I may made an error or what I am overlooking.
I have the Moto RSS programming manual for reference if thats helps.

well first, if you see a busy light blinking and there is traffic on it, check in the personality file, F4,F6,F3,F7, IF you have MDC enabled then go into that and check where it says unmute type, make sure its or, then and, or eles, it needs soembody to send it a call alert to open up the pl for it to recieve, I had that by accident before on one of our channels, and was wondering why I cant hear anybody on it.

I have a Astro Saber II that i am trying to use on the law enforcement system where i work. I have the new version of CPS straight from Motorola and have it programmed and can transmit find and hit the control channel. BUT I cant receive repeater feed back or any transmissions. Im wondering if its the same problem you are having.

If you want to email your codeplug to me, I'll take a look at it. However, there are very, very few programming parameters that would result in no RX audio on conventional analog channels. Does the radio make any sounds at all, such as button beeps, or open squelch noise when the monitor button is pushed? Also, as the other poster asked, does the top light blink when receiving the channel? That would at least tell us it's receiver is probably ok.

conventional fine

I have no problems transmitting and receiving on conventional channels. The audio works fine. It is while I am using trunking mode. Its very strange, I can transmit, but here no repeater feedback and can not here any voice on the channels. I can here the radio key up on my other radio and seems like its hitting the repeater fine. Does that tell you anything?

I was referring to the original poster. What you're doing is called "hijacking" the thread with your issue, when you already have an ongoing thread for it. Not that I want to ignore you...you can certainly send me a copy of both your AS codeplug, and one from a working radio on the system (MTS2000, MCS2000, whatever) and I'll look at them. However, please keep your issues in it's own thread.
